With 26 miles of white sandy beaches to soak in, the largest free-flowing river in the United States (the Pascagoula) to explore, and lush wildlife along our numerous blueways to witness, our Secret Coast is the perfect place for an outdoor enthusiast to stretch their legs. Whether you're in town for the day or the entire weekend, we have itineraries to suit your trip and have even considered which direction you'll be traveling from. Happy exploring!


Day Tripper

From the west:

Grab breakfast at Savage Skillet, The Buttercup on Second Street or at Fill-Up with Billups Pass Christian. 

Need some quick energy instead? Stop by Cat Island Coffeehouse.

Start your day by trying your luck on a near shore fishing charter trip, lasting no more than 4 hours.

Lunch is served at Sea Level or Shaggy’s, both located in the Pass Christian harbor and offering sweeping views of the Mississippi Sound.

Rent a kayak for the day from Everything Kayak and explore the region’s miles of shoreline.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, rent a jet ski or scooter from one of the area’s specialty vendors, or experience the high-octane thrill of racing at top speeds of 50 MPH at Finishline Performance Karting.

End your day with an early dinner at The Reef or Woody’s Roadside Bar & Grille.  


From the east:

Although the interpretive center is currently closed, explore the diverse outdoor trails of the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR).

Then, head to Gulf Coast Gator Ranch & Airboat Tours, the oldest gator farm in South Mississippi featuring pristine swamplands.

For lunch, stop by Jack’s by the Tracks, Scranton’s, or Bozo’s Seafood Market & Deli

Head farther east to enjoy the Gulf Islands National Seashore – Davis Bayou Area for scenic trails and unique vantage points.

Spend the rest of your afternoon by renting paddleboards from Wild Flier to explore the area’s endless waterways.

Enjoy dinner waterside at McElroy’s Harbor House in Biloxi.


Weekender

From the west:

Explore the Least Tern Nesting Areas along various points of Coastal Mississippi’s 26 miles of beaches.

Grab breakfast at Harbor View Café in Long Beach, or for something quick, stop by Bankhouse Coffee for fresh-roasted coffee and delicious pastries.

Enjoy white sand beaches and winding waterways on the Wolf River, the perfect playground for the amateur or experienced canoer and kayaker alike!

Once you’re finished on the water, enjoy another delicious meal at Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach, Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar, or Murky Waters Blues N BBQ. The dining choices are endless along The Secret Coast!

Enjoy lunch at The Blind Tiger Biloxi Beach, The Reef Biloxi, Gollott’s Fresh Catch Seafood Restaurant, or Ole Biloxi Fillin’ Station.   

Spend the afternoon renting jet skis, going parasailing or scooting around Highway 90.

After a long day outside, enjoy dinner at one of the region’s many dining options. Search by cuisine type, amenities and health/safety implementations.
