In Coastal Mississippi, the good times roll, and roll, and roll. With twelve coastal communities in our tri-county region, our collective calendar boasts events all year long. And because we love a reason to celebrate, we have several annual events that bring droves of visitors to our 62 miles of scenic coastline.
The beginning of each year welcomes everyone’s favorite pre-Lenten party season: Mardi Gras! With over twenty parades (and growing) taking place across Coastal Mississippi, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to yell “Throw me something, Mister!” We even host a Bow Wow Pawrade with the Krewe of Barkloxi so your furry friends can join in on the fun.
Spring welcomes the Annual Rapiscan Systems Classic. The iconic Fallen Oak golf course hosts the three-day PGA Tour Champions event and sees living legends like John Daly and Vijay Singh vie for a $1 million+ purse.
With food as a cornerstone of our culture, there are several annual events spotlighting the seafood industry in Coastal Mississippi. The Crawfish Music Festival at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum never disappoints with headline entertainment, exciting mid-way rides, and of course, hot-boiled crawfish, and the Annual Biloxi Seafood Festival on the Biloxi Town Green features a gumbo cook-off and several activities for families to enjoy. Moreover, if you can catch it, we’ll weigh it. The tri-county region plays host to the annual King Master and Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic tournaments, bringing in competitive fishing teams from across the country.
Cars are a thing in Coastal Mississippi. We celebrate each make and model and have three different annual events to prove it: Jeepin’ the Coast, Scrapin’ the Coast, and Cruisin’ the Coast. Voted #1 by USA Today as the Best Car Show Competition, Cruisin’ the Coast brings car enthusiasts from over 40 states, as well as international visitors to celebrate antique, classic, and hot rod vehicles.
Arts are a huge part of Coastal Mississippi culture. From Art in the Pass, to Frida Fest, to the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival, we celebrate art in all its forms and media. Now in its 42nd year, the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival will see over 400 booths lining the streets of downtown Ocean Springs and welcome over 150K+ visitors for one of the largest art festivals in the Southeastern United States.
As the year draws to a close, Coastal Mississippi celebrates the holiday season with major events like the Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival, showcasing over 1.2 million lights in Jones Park, and the Christmas on the Water Boat Parade. The Annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon caps off the year with a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, and kids marathon, bringing runners from across the country to trek our coastline.
With year-round annual events, there’s always something to celebrate in Coastal Mississippi!
