2. Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau
Where is the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau located?
Our office is located just off Interstate 10 (Exit 38) – 11975-G Seaway Road – Gulfport in the Knight Center for Non Profits. Our offices are located on the 2nd Floor. Directions from Interstate 10 – Go South on Cowan-Lorraine Road – 2nd Red Light – Turn Right – Approximately 1 Block – Our building will be on the left.

How any Motel/Hotels are located on the Beach?
Currently the only property located ON the beach is the SEA BREEZE CONDOMINIUM RESORT (A Condo-tel)! The property is located at 1899 Beach Blvd, Biloxi – (866) 573-7678 – www.sterlingresorts.com.
On the North side of Highway 90 – there are 14 hotels/motels, three RV Campgrounds & 5 condominium complexes considered BEACH FRONT – as they have the view of the beach & water but are not directly located ON the beach.

Are there any 24 Hour Gaming Casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast?
Yes, there presently 11 casinos open on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!
Harrison County: Beau Rivage Casino Resort, Boomtown Casino, Harrah's Grand Biloxi Casino Hotel & Spa, IP Casino Resort Spa, Island View Casino Resort, Isle Casino Hotel, Palace Casino Resort, Treasure Bay Casino Resort and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Hancock County: Hollywood Casino (Previously – Casino Magic) and Silver Slipper Casino

How many golf courses are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast?
The Mississippi Gulf Coast has 20 Golf Courses open & ready for play!
Harrison County: Bayou Vista, Dogwood Hills, Fallen Oak, Grand Bear, Great Southern, Pine Bayou, The Oaks, Pass Christian Isles, Sunkist, Bay Breeze (Keesler),
Hancock County: Diamondhead – Cardinal & Pine & The Bridges (Hollywood Casino).
Jackson County: Gulf Hills, Mississippi National, Pascagoula, The Preserve, Shell Landing, St. Andrews and Whispering Pines.

Can I drive on Beach Blvd/Highway 90? ("Is Beach Blvd/Highway 90 completely repaired yet?")
Yes. The Mississippi Department of Transportation currently completed a $90 million reconstruction project along Highway 90! Take a ride & enjoy the most scenic drive the Mississippi Coast has to offer.

What is there to do along the Mississippi Gulf Coast?
There is plenty to see & do here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! Many of our attractions are seasonal, but we offer other attractions as well. Please refer to the home page of our website – click on Attractions tab at the top – you will find MANY things to see & do! ENJOY!
Is the beach open and can we swim in the water?

Are dogs allowed on the beach?
Regulations concerning allowing dogs on the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches are different for the three counties: Harrison, Hancock and Jackson County.
Harrison County does not allow dogs on the beach.
Hancock and Jackson Counties allow dogs on the beach with a leash.
When does Shrimping Season begin? Where can you purchase fresh shrimp?
Shrimping season typically runs from June to December. For more information, please contact the Department of Marine Resources @ (228) 374-5000 or (800) 374-3449. Their website is http://www.dmr.state.ms.us/Regulations/seasons.htm.
For visitors wanting to purchase fresh shrimp – commercial fish companies will sell & package fresh seafood for travel or you may buy directly off the boats! The Biloxi small craft harbor and the Pass Christian Harbor are two locations where you can buy directly from local anglers. Remember to bring an ice chest if buying from the boats.
Is fishing allowed off the piers or the beach?
Yes, with a license. Many of the public piers are open for fishing! A valid fishing license is required for fishing. For a list of piers in the City of Biloxi open for fishing, please refer to their website: http://www.biloxi.ms.us/pr/Ports/Index.asp
Fishing licenses are available at many locations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. For more information on permits for fishing, and other water type recreational activities, please contact the Department of Marine Resources @ (228) 374-5000 or (800) 374-3449. - Kremer Landing – Located next to Cowan-Lorraine Bridge
- Ken Combs Pier - Located at the foot of Courthouse Road & Highway 90
- Ken Combs Pier – Located at the foot of Courthouse Road & Highway 90
- Moses Pier – Located adjacent to Gulfport Small Craft Harbor – Intersection Highway 90 & Highway 49
- Urie Pier – Located adjacent to Gulfport Small Craft Harbor – Intersection Highway 90 & Highway 49
- Westside Pier – Located on Highway 90 West of Island View Casino Resort – Gulfport
- James Hill Park & Piers – Located near Handsboro Center on Switzer Road – Pavilion, Ball Field, Tennis Courts (2), Playground Module, Boardwalk Trails, Fishing Piers
8. Beach Facilities
Are there any restroom facilities for public use along the 26-mile sand beach?
Presently, there are four locations that offer "port-a-lets" for public use as a rest/changing area.
Port-a-let locations:
- Long Beach: Highway 90 & Cleveland Avenue
- Gulfport: Across street from the Island View Casino
- West Biloxi: Across the street from the MS Coast Coliseum
- East Biloxi: Highway 90 & Porter Avenue
