Audubon Mississippi welcomes Mississippi’s charismatic, summer residents--the Least Terns. Mississippi hosts one of the largest nesting concentrations of Least Terns in the world. Nowhere else will you have the opportunity to see so many birds nesting on the beaches. This event is a celebration of Mississippi’s heritage and the unique culture, ecology and economy that makes up the Coast’s spirit.

Join in the welcoming celebration. There will be educational booths, children’s crafts, games, food vendors, and artisans. This year’s student-created public service signs highlighting Black Skimmers will be unveiled at the festival. This beautiful artwork created by local elementary students will be turned into permanent signage and displayed at nesting bird colonies along the coast. Event attendees will learn about the ecology, threats, and the importance of conservation of Least Terns, as they visit the event booths and vendors. The festival will happen rain or shine.
