In this 6 week drawing class led by visual artist, Eric Huckabee, students will explore drawing as a means of observing and interpreting the world around them through the still-life. Students will learn a variety of techniques and approaches that will improve their own natural way of drawing. This class is perfect for both beginners and experienced artists looking to expand their skills and deepen their understanding of observational drawing. Materials will be supplied by the museum for this course. However, if you’d like to bring your own materials, please see the list below.

Eric Huckabee is a visual artist and educator living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His work has been exhibited across the eastern United States, including shows at Gross McCleaf Gallery in Philadelphia, Prince Street Gallery in New York, and at The Satellite Show Miami. In 2018 he was awarded an individual artist grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission. His work is in the collection of Woodmere Art Museum, and has been featured in New American Paintings and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He currently teaches Painting, Drawing, and Foundations at Southeastern Louisiana University.Materials:
