About

Welcome to our Art Around the World Summer Camp for 6–12-year-olds! Our week 6 program is designed to introduce campers to various art forms from South American subcultures, including Incan masks, Mayan glyphs, and Amate painting. Here's a detailed description of what to expect:

• Incan Masks
Our campers will learn about the Incan culture and the significance of masks in their tradition. They will learn about the different types of Incan masks and the materials used to create them. Campers will create their own Incan masks using paper mâché and paint.

• Mayan Glyphs
Campers will learn about the Mayan civilization and the importance of glyphs in their culture. They will learn how to read and write Mayan glyphs and create their own designs using markers and paper.

• Amate Painting
Campers will learn about Amate paper and its significance in Mexican culture. They will learn about the history of Amate painting and the materials used to create it. Campers will create their own Amate paintings using traditional techniques and natural pigments.

Throughout the week, campers will also participate in group discussions and activities to learn more about the history and traditions of South American art. They will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and perspectives, and to learn from each other.

The cost of the program is $175 per camper before May 1st, and there is a $25 registration fee that covers a complimentary t-shirt and all necessary supplies. The program runs from 9am to 12pm each day.

We look forward to welcoming your child to our Art Around the World Summer Camp!
