About
Welcome to our Art Around the World Summer Camp for 6–12-year-olds! Our week 1 program is designed to introduce campers to various art forms from European subcultures, including Nordic Rosemale, Celtic knot art, and Arcimbaldo portraits. Here's a detailed description of what to expect:
• Nordic Rosemale
Our campers will learn about the traditional Norwegian art form of Rosemale. They will be introduced to the history of Rosemale, the different motifs and colors used, and the techniques of painting on wood. Campers will create their own Nordic Rosemale art pieces using wooden trays, acrylic paint, and brushes.• Celtic Knot Art
Campers will learn about the history and significance of Celtic Knot Art. They will be introduced to the different patterns, symbols and colors used in Celtic art, and learn how to create their own Celtic knot designs. Campers will use colored pencils, markers and paper to create their own unique Celtic Knot Art pieces.• Arcimbaldo Portraits
Campers will learn about the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimbaldo, who was famous for his portraits made up of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. They will learn about the techniques of still-life painting and the symbolism of different fruits and vegetables. Campers will create their own Arcimbaldo-style portraits using watercolor paints and a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers.Throughout the week, campers will also participate in group discussions and activities to learn more about the history and traditions of European art. They will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and perspectives, and to learn from each other.
The cost of the program is $175 per camper before May 1st, and there is a $25 registration fee that covers a complimentary t-shirt and all necessary supplies. The program runs from 9am to 12pm each day.
We look forward to welcoming your child to our Art Around the World Summer Camp!
