Art and the Afterlife

Art and the Afterlife is a celebration of Día de Muertos on the grounds of The Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center of Arts and Education in support of the Mary C, The Walter Anderson Museum of Art, and The Ohr O'Keefe Museum of Art.

Admission is $15 with $10 food plates available. Craft and domestic beer will also be available for purchase with marigold sangria available as well.

Activities will include:

  • Make & take arts and crafts
  • Facepainting
  • Live Painting with Artist Carmen Lugo.
  • Fashion Contest: Show off your best costume! Whether Día de Muertos themed or not, all costumes welcome. Creativity will be a big part of how costumes are judged, so create something impressive for us!
  • Altar Contest: Individuals and organizations are invited to take part in our altar contest as well! Día de Muertos altars are a traditional expression of love and reverence for family members past. Our altar contest draws inspiration from these altars as an artistic endeavor. Whether you decide to represent your local organization, family, or yourself is up to you. The contest will be judged and the top contestant will win $100.
