Moon opened this property after Hurricane Katrina and helped breath life back into the area. The property is steps from the beach, harbor, restaurants, shops, and art galleries, and is perfectly situated for viewing gorgeous south Mississippi sunrises.

The inn features 12 uniquely themed and decorated rooms surrounding a beautifully landscaped in-ground pool complete with a whimsical frog fountain that Nikki has aptly named ‘Senior Moon.’

Nikki lives on the property and carefully manages every aspect of her guests’ stay. On each Saturday and Sunday morning large breakfasts are delivered to the rooms. There are already complimentary beverages and coffee in each room, and there are handicap accessible rooms.

The Guest House at Gulfport Landing

After Jason Wilson and his wife lost their home during Hurricane Katrina, they decided they wanted to find an investment property. Being Biloxi natives, they wanted that property to still be on the Gulf Coast. They found the perfect property one city to the west in Gulfport.

Jason says the real estate listing claimed that the historic home on 32nd Avenue was ideal for a bed and breakfast, so he and his wife made it happen. They purchased the property and spent $300,000 on renovations, including acquiring all of the antiques that fill the home.

Each of the five rooms have individual climate controls, working fireplaces, full bathrooms, and flat-screen televisions. Jason lovingly prepares a gourmet breakfasts for his guests each morning, who eat together around a large dining room table surrounded by history and beautiful furnishings.

The Guest House features a handicap accessible room, and the property is known for its cleanliness, character, and proximity to the beach, gaming and entertainment, and an international airport.

Gulf Hills Hotel and Conference Center

Ocean Springs

One of the most unique places to stay in Jackson County has a long, rich history on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Gulf Hills property was established in the 1920s and has held a rich tradition of notable guests. One of the most well-known patrons was the King himself, Elvis Presley.

Elvis stayed at the Gulf Hills hotel during the summers from 1951-1957 while he was playing the Louisiana Hayride early on in his career. Now, you can stay in a suite inspired by his lavish style. The Love Me Tender, Love Me Suite is a 2000 square foot tribute to the King. Guests often book it for special events, bridal parties, and everything in between.

If you can’t book the Elvis suite, but still want to stay on property, you are in luck. Donna Brown, the manager of Gulf Hills, says that there are 52 rooms on property. Many of them are handicap accessible. Another unique feature of the hotel is its amazing amenities.

Guests are invited to gather together in the dining area to enjoy a large continental breakfast every morning. The property is situated right across the street from a beautifully laid out golf course, so guests can literally walk out of their rooms and right onto the tee box. It also has a huge pool overlooking tennis courts, and a bayou with kayak launches. So, you really never need to leave the property.
