Are you attending the Peter Anderson Festival in Ocean Springs this November 3-4? Here’s everything you need to know to have a successful festival weekend on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Places to Stay
Considering a day-trip to the festival? With over 400 artists, crafters and food vendor booths, we highly recommend you overnight and enjoy both days. With accommodations for just about any type of traveler, we are sure you will find just the right place. Check out our complete list of places to stay on the Coast here.
Have Breakfast at TatoNut
Treat yourself to the best donuts in Mississippi for breakfast! Arrive early because the line will be down the block, but the wait will be worth it once you try the delicious potato dough pastries. TatoNut is closed on Sundays, so be sure to stop here for breakfast on the first day of the festival.
Plan Transportation
Parking is limited for the festival, so take advantage of the festival’s free park n' ride options. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 8:30am to 5:30pm each day. Drop off locations are at the Government Street and Porter Avenue entrances/information booths. Free parking and transportation is courtesy of the YMCA and Coast Transit Authority. The buses will pick up from Ocean Springs Upper Elementary and Oak Park Elementary located at 2300 Government St. Buses will also pick up from the Greyhound Stadium parking lot located at 1005 Hanley Road.
Dress Comfortably
The festival spans multiple blocks, so make sure you wear shoes that you are comfortable walking long distances in. Even though it’s November, it can still be very warm in South Mississippi. Make sure you wear something you are comfortable wearing outside for multiple hours.
Bring your Appetite
The culinary life on the Coast ebbs and flows with the seasons; it's as fresh, as local, as gulf to table as it gets anywhere in the country. Throughout the festival, you will find ample food vendors giving you tons of options to savor some of the regions finest. Along with an abundance of culinary options, you will have the opportunity to taste many beers throughout the festival. Blue Moon is the title sponsor of festival, so be sure to sip on some of Blue Moon’s refreshing brews this weekend.
