Are you attending the Peter Anderson Festival in Ocean Springs this weekend? Here’s everything you need to know to have a successful festival weekend on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Have Breakfast at TatoNut
Treat yourself to the best donuts in Mississippi for breakfast! Arrive early because the line will be down the block, but the wait will be worth it once you try the delicious potato dough pastries. TatoNut is closed on Sundays, so be sure to stop here for breakfast on the first day of the festival.
If possible, stay in downtown Ocean Springs because parking is limited for the festival. Nearby accommodations include Front Beach Cottages, The Inn at Ocean Springs or the Cottages at Rosetti Park. We also suggest taking advantage of the festival’s shuttle options. Buses will run every 15 minutes from Ocean Springs Upper Elementary and Oak Park Elementary. If you do decide to drive to the festival, make sure your vehicle is parked in a valid parking spot.
The festival spans multiple blocks, so make sure you wear shoes that you are comfortable walking long distances in. Even though it’s November, it is still very warm in South Mississippi. Make sure you wear something you are comfortable wearing outside for multiple hours.
Grab a Business Card
Make a lap around all of the booths before you start to buy, especially if you are on a budget. Even if you love the first piece you spot, we promise you will find more that you will want to bring home. You should grab a business card from any vendors you like because many of the artists’ pieces will be available for purchase after the festival.
Explore the Coast
If you are spending the weekend on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for Peter Anderson Festival, expand your horizons. With Pascagoula to the east and Biloxi, Bay St. Louis and more to the west, there are plenty of options for exploring beyond the art festival. Get your fix of casinos, seafood, golfing and more before you leave the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Bring your Appetite
Throughout the many artists’ booth, you will find ample food vendors at the festival as well. Be sure to taste what the Mississippi Gulf Coast has to offer. Along with a surplus of food options, you will have the opportunity to taste many beers throughout the festival. Blue Moon is the title sponsor of festival, so be sure to sip on some of Blue Moon’s refreshing brews this weekend.
