Summertime in Coastal Mississippi provides two certainties: SUN and FUN. When the temperature is higher and the days are longer, there's no excuse not to shed those layers and get outside! Soak up our beautiful coastal weather by taking advantage of the multitude of outdoor activities we offer.

Splash and Swim

For the aquatic lovers, we recommend beating the heat by cooling down poolside. Coastal Mississippi's casino resorts offer luxurious pool settings with options for private cabanas and bartenders at an arm's length away. Swim over to the Sound Bar for specialty cocktails and order the crowd favorite - short rib tacos - at the Hard Rock's Tequila's on the Gulf. And if you're there on a Sunday, enjoy live entertainment with DJ San-D and Angie! We also recommend indulging in a private daybed at the Golden Nugget's H2O Pool & Bar. Bonus: they offer poolside gambling for those interested in winning big while cooling off. For family-friendly water adventures, enjoy Coastal Mississippi's several waterparks and splashpads. The waterparks have varying times of operation and admission prices, but the splashpads are free to the public!

Take a Boat Tour

If you ask the locals, many of them will tell you that the guided boat tours and outings are among the coolest ways to spend your time in Coastal Mississippi, and there are several different ones to choose from! The Biloxi Shrimping Trip is a 70-minute excursion that takes place in the Mississippi Sound and provides hands-on demonstrations and lessons about the wide world of the shrimping and seafood industry, and the guides (Mike and David) could not be more fun. McCoy’s River & Marsh Tours leave from the Pascagoula River Audubon Center and take passengers into the largest free-flowing river in the contiguous United States. Some of the species you’ll see can’t be found anywhere else on the planet. Last, but not least: Gulf Coast Gator Ranch & Airboat Swamp Tours. The name speaks for itself, and it’s well-worth your time!

Hit the Links

We don’t like to brag too often, but if you’re going to be playing golf in the state of Mississippi, you should start and end on the Coast. After all, Golf Digest did say that five of the top 10 (including no. 1) courses in the state are right here in Coastal Mississippi. We even offer a great golf package for patrons who want to stay the night and play at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Grand Bear Golf Course!
