The Secret Coast’s effervescent craft beer scene has been bubbling up since July 1, 2017, when Mississippi joined 48 of its fellow states in allowing small breweries to sell beer on-premises. With established local breweries offering cozy taprooms and outdoor patios, and a plethora of nano and micro brewers across the region serving up one-of-a-kind small batches, Coastal Mississippi is the place for some of the best coastal cold ones! Lazy Magnolia is Mississippi’s oldest packaging brewery, and the first one since prohibition was enacted in 1907. Offering locally brewed beer since 2003, Lazy Magnolia is located in Kiln, and offers an impressive line of refreshing beverages made in true Southern style, complementing the traditions of the South and remaining true to Southern tastes. Relax in their spacious taproom or on their peaceful porch and discover an extensive food menu that includes wood-fired pizza made with the freshest local ingredients.
Lazy Magnolia is now selling masks and house-made hand sanitizer in half-gallon containers for $25.
Hops and Growlers
Featuring 20 taps, Hops and Growlers offers an ever-evolving array of small-batch delights, ranging from seasonal imperial stouts to Belgian-style quads and zesty barrel-aged sours. Treat yourself to a flight of freshly brewed goodness, and don’t forget to take home a growler of your favorite once you’ve sampled them all!
Located in a renovated historic building by the train tracks in downtown Gulfport, Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is named after the 50 miles of uninhabited islands along the coast of Mississippi. Offering handcrafted ales, using only the finest, freshest malted barley, hops, and local ingredients, you’ll find a sip that satisfies every taste bud.
Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is now selling hand sanitizer in 4oz bottles for $3.50, and also offers a free 2oz bottle with every two packs of beer purchased.
The Chandeleur Island Brewing Company taproom is currently open at 75% capacity for inside seating and to-go sales. Indoor seating is restricted to maximum 6 at a table, and 1-2 people at the bar. Outdoor seating is also available. Masks are required when not seated, and hand sanitizer is provided upon entry. Tours temporarily on hold.
Fort Bayou Brewing Company
Located inside the Cypress Taphouse in Ocean Springs, Fort Bayou Brewing Company is a microbrewery and brewpub offering local craft beer, a fully stocked bar, and delicious Cajun-inspired dishes. Take a break on their gazebo overlooking the koi pond, challenge your friends to a game of foosball or cornhole, and sample some quality local cold ones.
In the heart of downtown Ocean Springs, Craft Advisory Brewing is one of the most recent additions to the Coastal Mississippi brewpub scene. Sample an array of fresh brews, flavored sours, and a food menu that offers intriguing twists on classic pub fare. Enjoy a flight and a bite to eat inside with a view of the kegs at work, or watch the world go by on their outdoor patio.
Puff Belly's Brewery, Pizza & Grill
Located in D’Iberville, Puff Belly's offers refreshing, craft brews and an extensive food menu that includes brick-oven pizza, burgers, and much more. Whether you’re looking to quench your thirst with a fresh, cold pilsner in the sun, or spend the cooler evenings sipping a delicious high-gravity ale, their large selection of craft beer will have you coming back year-round.
When llamas fly, glasses raise! That is the motto at Biloxi's latest addition to our coastal craft beer scene. Located right off historic Howard Avenue just steps away from MGM Park, Fly Llama Brewing offers a rotating tap line as cool and eclectic as their name. With fourteen beers and four seltzers on draft, owner and brewmaster David Reese looks to celebrate traditional styles while pushing the boundaries of brewing traditions. Come enjoy a cold one in their family and dog-friendly taproom or outdoor seating area!

Keeping the rich local history of whiskey production alive and well in Coastal Mississippi, Crittenden Distillery prides itself on quality production and sourcing locally, offering Kiln Shine Pure Shine made in the traditional “corn whiskey” style. Stop by the distillery and take a tour and keep an eye out for Kiln Shine in local liquor stores. Tours and tastings by appointment only.
