Two-Time Major Champion John Daly Commits to 2017 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic

Volunteer Registration is Open Now with Complimentary Volunteer Package

Mississippi Gulf Coast –The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic (MGRC) announced that John Daly has committed to the 2017 tournament, his first appearance on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since joining the PGA TOUR Champions. Daly, who is beginning his second season on Tour, is a two-time major champion, winning the 1995 British Open and the 1991 PGA Championship. He turned 50 just after last year’s MGRC.

In addition, volunteer registration for the 2017 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic is now open. The MGRC has implemented a new policy for 2017, waiving the $60 volunteer package fee. All volunteers will receive a package that includes a golf shirt, hat, credential, tickets and parking pass. In addition, they will be invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Party and have their choice of a complimentary round of golf at Grand Bear golf course, a Jack Nicklaus signature designed course, or a complimentary buffet voucher for Harrah’s Gulf Coast.

An important element of the MGRC is the volunteers. Volunteers oversee much of the day to day operations of the tournament, from marshaling and walking scorers to working on the driving range and acting as volunteer ambassadors for the tournament.

Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of three (3) shifts during the tournament. Volunteer committee assignments range from on-course marshals, standard bearers and TV spotters to driving range operations, shuttle drivers, Pro-Am operations and more. All committees are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so individuals are encouraged to register early.

Both returning and new volunteers are required complete the online registration form. To register as a volunteer for the 2017 MGRC, please visit the tournament website at www.2017MGRC.com.

The 2017 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic will take place March 30 – April 2 at Fallen Oak in Biloxi. This will be the eighth year that the Mississippi Gulf Coast will host the best players on the PGA TOUR Champions. For the seventh consecutive year, the tournament will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel, with Saturday and Sunday’s rounds being aired to over 85 million households throughout the United States.

Tickets are $15 and will go on sale Friday, February 10th and may be purchased online at www.2017MGRC.com or by calling the tournament office at (228) 896-6365.
