The Blind Tiger coming to The Great Lawn at Harrah’s Gulf Coast

The open-air bar and restaurant will bring a fresh dynamic to the resort’s impressive catalog of award-winning amenities and will add to the growing excitement and energy taking place in East Biloxi

Biloxi, Miss. (August 5, 2016) Harrah’s Gulf Coast will soon offer another enticing draw to its resort when The Blind Tiger opens on The Great Lawn. The laid back, open-air bar and restaurant that has garnered a large, loyal fan base of food lovers at their Bay St. Louis location, has partnered with the Caesars Entertainment resort to bring their relaxed restaurant concept to East Biloxi. The new dining attraction will grow Harrah’s Gulf Coast’s impressive portfolio of amenities, and complement the many improvements made to the resort since 2014, including their most recent $14 million dollar hotel renovation project. The Blind Tiger will be the first permanent structure built on the resort’s 10.5 acre waterfront space since its summer 2014 debut.

A favorite among locals since opening in Bay St. Louis in 2013, The Blind Tiger has amassed a following of diners seeking quality food and simple, yet unique, cocktails in a casual, waterfront setting. Their well-established reputation, due in large part to their fresh, never frozen food philosophy and “come as you are” mentality, combine to create an enticing restaurant concept for foodies with a discernable palate along the Mississippi Gulf Coast; and it’s a thoughtfully crafted concept that was purposefully, and consciously, developed by its chef and owner, Thomas Genin. Genin and Harrah’s Gulf Coast look forward to replicating his unique and proven restaurant model at The Blind Tiger’s new Biloxi location.

“We believe that the light-hearted personality and laid back atmosphere of The Blind Tiger will resonate with our guests and further our mission of encouraging grownups to play,” said Jonathan Jones, general manager of Harrah’s Gulf Coast. “By opening The Blind Tiger, we’ll be giving guests yet another place to indulge in regional Southern fare, while relaxing and having a great time with friends and family. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome a restaurant as special and coveted as The Blind Tiger to our catalog of dining amenities.”

When Genin’s second installment of The Blind Tiger opens in Biloxi, newcomers to the restaurant will taste his passion for using fresh and local ingredients in the appetizers and entrees from his carefully developed and limited chalkboard menu. Patrons can also look forward to an additional menu that will update daily to feature dishes made with the freshest seafood and meats of the day.

“The heartbeat of our operation is quality,” said Thomas Genin, chef and owner of The Blind Tiger. “My team and I are dedicated to using only fresh, quality ingredients that are locally sourced in all our dishes. By developing a menu that only features creations made daily with local resources, we’ve been able to grow The Blind Tiger into a respected local restaurant and brand that embodies everything great about our coastal region. We never compromise on fresh – it’s our commitment to our guests and fellow businesses in the community.”

The cuisine, albeit an important factor when developing the restaurant, was not the only major factor. The other key player considered at the first venue, as well as the second, is location. The open-air layout of The Blind Tiger in Bay St. Louis was designed to showcase the beauty of the Harbor Marina, while providing diners with an experience indicative of a coastal town. Similarly, the Biloxi location will offer guests of the establishment an idyllic backdrop with the Gulf of Mexico. The scenic beauty of The Great Lawn will work in tandem with the restaurant’s exceptional food to capture the ultimate dining experience for the resort’s hotel guests and local clientele, while celebrating the coastal beauty that’s often a draw for visitors.

The layout of The Blind Tiger Biloxi has been designed to include large windows and exterior decks to take advantage of The Great Lawn’s captivating views and many sunsets, while also guaranteeing lucky patrons the hottest seat in the house when entertainers visit the waterfront venue. The scope of the project will reach beyond its main physical structure, however. Always considerate of their guests, Harrah’s Gulf Coast will extend the west crosswalk, connecting their outdoor pool deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, to the new food outlet to ensure safe and easy passage for guests going to and from the venue.

Additional details surrounding the construction and opening date of The Blind Tiger will be announced in the coming months. For more information, please visit www.harrahsgulfcoast.com.
