15th ANNUAL MOSS POINT CHRISTMAS BY THE RIVER

Come celebrate the season by gathering downtown and enjoying everything that makes our Christmas special! We welcome you to join us for Christmas by the River! Our annual festival kicks off the holiday season and includes a nighttime boat parade and a grand fireworks show! Every year boaters from around the area decorate their vessels with lights and holiday memorabilia and parade up the river and along the boardwalk throwing goodies to the children. The last boat of the parade is reserved for a special visitor from the North Pole and the night is ended with an awe-inspiring firework display!

Other attractions include face painting, a vintage car show, a visit with Santa, and holiday entertainment. And ’tis the season for shopping… so visit the many exhibitors who offer holiday foods and unique keepsakes and shop among the downtown stores who stay open late during the event.

Just in time for the holiday season, The Greek Pastry Collection transports you across the boundaries of land and sea. Once you have tasted these Greek pastries, they will remind you of a testament to the people and periods of a country alive with romanticism and richness. Every holiday season for the past 30 years, Greek Pastries, Greek Bread and Spanakopita (spinach rolls) are prepared as a fundraiser. With pride, the tradition continues again this year and you can order different pastries by the box (6 or 12 pieces), along with our special assortment boxes!

The assorted Greek pastries offered include: Baklava (layers of filo, spiced nuts and honey), Kourambiedes (butter cookies with powdered sugar), Koulourakia (crisp butter twists), Ergolavos Cresent (almond cookies). 19th ANNUAL FALL-DE-RAH

Thru – January 3

Fall-de-Rah, Moss Point's unique celebration of Autumn is considered one of the most photographed seasonal attractions! This two-month celebration begins in September and extends through Thanksgiving when it gives way to Christmas Beauty! A stunning display of pumpkins transforms the riverfront into unique scenery! After Thanksgiving, the pumpkins turn into Christmas decorations! Santa and other decorations are magically transformed from stacks of pumpkins! Fall-De-Rah and its Christmas counterpart are the imagination and artistic creativity of the group "Celebrations!"

Theme this year "All Aboard for Fall-de-rah!" as Moss Point salutes the 90th Anniversary of MS Export Railroad, a privately-owned railroad based in Moss Point. Exhibits include several homemade trains, including one which is a replica of the one used currently by MS Export and which RUNS! In addition, decorated pumpkins, hay, the maze, scarecrows, etc., and much more! Fall-de-rah stays in place until the week after Thanksgiving when, by magic, it becomes the Christmas Express! Very exciting theme and to see these transformed pumpkins...is a MUST see!
