The humanitarian mission of the Diocesan Office of Long Term Recovery is to work with donations, volunteers, case mangers, construction managers, nonprofit organizations and philanthropic corporations to assist families and individuals in recovering from Hurricane Katrina; regardless of age, race or religious affiliation.

Urban Life Missions Relief is helping families rebuild/repair their homes and helping those who cannot help themselves. We have several homes being repaired at several stages of construction, so we can use both skilled and unskilled volunteers to work in homes or on site. This group will be in place until at least December 2008.
- Construction Team: flooring, drywall/sheetrock, painting, roofing, plumbing, electrical, cabinet installation, general clean up
- Site Team: organize supply tent, supply runner, sanitization (empty trash cans, clean up)
- Kitchen Crew: prepare and cleanup of meals
- Office Workers: general clerical, answering phones, etc.

East Biloxi Coordination, Relief and Redevelopment Agency located in East Biloxi is still need of volunteers to come out and give their time to assist in returning Hurricane Katrina victims to their homes which sustained extreme damage. Although it has been over 4 years since Katrina, recovery groups such as the Coordination Center are still working diligently. Volunteers are needed for every aspect of construction from setting sub-floors to painting. If you would like to support our efforts and are not able to give your time, donations are still needed to help with building supplies needed to complete the hundreds of homes still awaiting assistance. If your interest is in serving the local community in any other capacity, please don't hesitate to ask.
