Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi Adds a New Dimension to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST – The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi, opening in September 2005, will rock the Mississippi Gulf Coast with hip nightlife, fine cuisine, and headline entertainment.

The new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a $235 million project that contributes to over $1 billion in current tourism developments on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The casino resort will feature 318 stylish hotel rooms, many of which are suite arrangements, 50,000 square feet of casino space, a resort-style pool and spa, a 12th story rooftop lounge, and retail shops such as Ben & Jerry’s and Starbucks. Other dining options include a Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Hard Rock Café, a 24/7 Grille and a 450-seat buffet.

The Hard Rock label draws big-name entertainment across the world, and a 1,200 capacity entertainment venue at the new Biloxi property will add to the impressive list of headline performers already appearing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

“The new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi will bring a new sense of energy to the market. It will offer a different angle on gaming for the area encompassing great music, great food and exciting games,” said Joe Billhimer, president and COO of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi. “It will be more than a casino. It will be a complete, fun-filled property with many activity options, which is what the locals want and what the market needs to attract visitors, as well.”

The new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will feature a record-breaking 112-foot replica of a Peavey anniversary guitar at its entrance on Biloxi’s Beach Boulevard. The Peavey guitar alone is a $1.5 million project, and is being built by Kojis & Sons Signs, Inc. of Bunkie, Louisiana.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi is designed by the Paul Steelman Digital Design Group, an architecture firm led by Paul Steelman, whose experience includes dozens of casino projects in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and abroad.

“The opening of our first new casino resort in over 5 years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is indeed an exciting event,” said Steve Richer, executive director of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau. “From the front entrance to the finishing touches, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi will thrill repeat visitors with a fun and different experience and attract a more hip and adventurous visitor who may not have been to the Mississippi Gulf Coast before.”
