Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is one of the Top 50 Children's Museums in the United States and a MUST DO attraction for the entire family here on the MS Gulf Coast! Plan to spend the day because your family will not want to leave! Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a hands-on Children's Museum, which offers many exhibits.

Take the challenge and walk in another child's shoes in What It's Like To Be Me, an exhibit about understanding differences and disabilities–Then board the LMDC Jet for Mexicoat the Celebrate The World We Share exhibit.  Don't forget your passport, Ole' Amigos!  Continuing on…There are worlds of discovery in the Mississippi City History Hotel. Check in the hotel and browse through the lobby shops and experience Mississippi City in the 1890's. From the hotel meander over to the To Market, To Market exhibit which is our own Mississippi grocery store where you get your grocery cart and shop for baked bread, seafood by the pound, flowers and garden veggies! Checking out won’t cost you a dime!

Jump into a kayak and float down the Wolf River and become a wetlands Investi-gator at the Wonder Filled Wetlands exhibitand then broadcast your environmental news from our news desk where you are the anchor person. Operate a crane, drag the gulf for shrimp and load those delicious bananas on our 18 wheeler at The Port exhibit. From there…It's A Matter of Science. - Touch a tornado, create a magnet sculpture, and understand a pulley fully at this exhibit!  From ages 5 to 95, no "child" will want to miss our Tree House Village created not only for imagination, but also for habitation. Visit Bear Creek, an outdoor, woodsy cabin with a babbling brook. After such a busy day - Sit awhile in Pelican Porch & Bayou Bait Shop, and feast on the best food in town, prepared by our own young chefs. Don't worry, if you eat our desserts, you'll never gain a pound.

Lynn Meadows expands a child's world by encouraging shared learning experiences to enrich the minds and hearts of children and adults through interactive and entertaining exhibitions and programs designed to simulate the real world of South Mississippi.  Bring the family and see!  Remember we said you would never want to leave - see we weren't kidding!
