Beauvoir - The Jefferson Davis Home & Presidential Library
Beauvoir and the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library present a rich history of Jefferson Davis and his last home on a stunning 51 acre expanse on the Gulf Coast. The Beauvoir mansion is restored to 1889 when Davis lived in this house. The new Jefferson Davis Presidential Library currently has both the gift store and theater. Galleries and exhibits will open later this year. The grounds also include a Confederate Cemetery where the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier and the grave of Jefferson Davis’s father, Samuel, are located. Varina Davis’ Rose Garden is being restored and will be open in late June this year. Jefferson Davis’ great grandson is on the grounds frequently to great the guests.
