Overview

Biloxi Visitors Center is a 23,000 square foot facility, which provides visitors with information on hotels, restaurants, attractions, and events. The visitor center is not only a place to obtain information on the area, but it is an attraction in itself!

The rooms in the center are spacious with 12-foot ceilings; flanked on both sides by sunlit parlor-style rooms, the reception desk sits waiting to welcome visitors. The west parlor contains two historic displays begin a 2,500 square foot multi-media exhibit, which continues in the Tommy Munro Gallery, about Biloxi's history and heritage from French explorer days to present day. Visitors get the use of “Audio wands” to listen to the descriptions while viewing the pictures. Continuing the tour, the theatre offers a history of Biloxi movie every fifteen minutes, along with the showing of "Katrina & Biloxi," a 50-minute documentary shown daily at 10am & 2pm.

Straight back from the foyer is the information corridor. This area has a wall of brochures for the visitors to browse as well as videos about living, working and playing in Biloxi. On the opposite wall is a larger screen showing a live view along U.S. 90 from the top of the Biloxi Lighthouse. Continue up to the second floor where the upper walls show depictions from old postcards of life in Biloxi. Beyond the corridor is a 2,500-square-foot museum that covers the history of Biloxi from the landing of Pierr Le Moyne d'Iberville in 1699 to modern-day life, and using the “audio wands” enhances this visual tour.

While in the staircase area, look around at six of the eight stained glass windows saved after Hurricane Katrina from the original building on this site, the Dantzler House. The other two stained glass windows are part of the conference rooms on the second floor, which also houses the offices of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce and the Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Don’t forget to pick up a souvenir in the gift shop, where you will find one-of-a-kind items not found anywhere else. And take a moment to sign the guest book in the foyer and enjoy a complimentary cup of fresh coffee. The center also offers free WiFi.

Open Daily 8am-5pm.
