Overview:
Red Creek Inn, Circa 1899, is a three-story raised French cottage on four acres surrounded by over fifty ancient live oaks and fragrant magnolias! The Mississippi Gulf Coast's first Bed & Breakfast has been open since 1986 and offers 7 rooms; The Victorian, The French, The Country, The Bunk, The Sleeping Porch, The Freedman's Quarter and Our Parlor!
The Victorian Room doubles as the inn's "honeymoon suite," with its heavily carved four-poster, queen size bed, triple dresser and high boy. Its ceilings are 10.5' and there's a beautiful Hunter fan with tulip globes. The bath is 8' X 15' and there's a double vanity and large marble Jacuzzi for your pleasure. A porch swing is just outside another entrance to this, our nicest, room!
The French Room and the Country Room are both in the attic, with lower ceiling heights, which slant as you move away from the center of each room. Each room has a private bath. The French has a second dormer and a little more room than the Country, so there's a couch in addition to the pub table, chairs, and dresser in each. The couch in the French Room has a seamless cushion.
The "bunk" room is also in the attic. Located between the French and Country, it's ideal for kids. There's a door at each end of it; one at the entrance to the French and the other at the entrance to the Country. It's a long, narrow room, with two dormers, two small desks, and two twin beds arranged head-to-head!
The Sleeping Porch is adjacent to the Victorian Room's bath, and may be entered from the back of the Parlor. The room is 8' X 15' and has a trundle bed, wing chair, bookcase, TV/VCR and lots of plants!
The Freedman's Quarters is in the bottom of the inn and has the low ceilings typical of the first and third floors of a raised French cottage! The Freedman's Quarters has a private bath!
Our parlor is 15' X 32' and has a wood burning fireplace at each end! There's a 1930's Philco wooden radio, with overseas band, an Edison Victrola, and an Eastlake Victorian Organ! A framed and matted antique postcard collection adds to the homey feel! A second TV room is the screened back porch, with rattan furniture and ceiling fan! Wicker rocking chairs and traditional wooden swings may be found on the 64' front porch! Please note that horseback riding is no longer offered.
