The Center for Marine Education & Research, aka The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies offers visitors of all ages the chance to engage in a fun, hands-on learning experience that helps them understand and appreciate the species that make the Gulf Coast waters unique. Experience underwater adventures on the big screen in a state of the art auditorium, encounter sea life such as horseshoe crabs, sea stars, fresh water turtles, and other marine life in the discovery room. The marine museum features aquatic exhibits and a fossil dig – you may even find a shark tooth to keep as a souvenir.
Public tours Tuesday - Sunday 9:30am and 1:30pm
A must-see is the Dolphin Presentation where visitors see Bo and Buster; two Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins that entertain you for 20-minutes. To make the experience even more special, call ahead to schedule the Dolphin Interaction Program – where you actually get right in the water, up close & personal with one of the world’s most intelligent animals. (Weather Permitting).
