Overview

Once known as City Park, the Carol Vegas Park is the oldest park in the Bay and is honored as a Mississippi Landmark Property. The park features a beautifully shaded children’s area and a tennis court. Originally built in the 1930’s by the WPA, this location also holds one of the city’s most photographed construction pieces, the “Shoo-Fly," which was built by city workers in 1991.

Carol Vegas Park was completely renovated in 2006 by friends of Vegas, citizens and volunteers with all new equipment furnished by KaBoom.

The park is open to the public and is also available for special events. An approved Special Events Application is required and fees may apply. For more information or to schedule an event, call (228) 466-8951.
