WAMA's latest "from the vault" exhibit celebrates Walter Anderson's love of the fauna found along the gulf coast and beyond. Celebrating animals that many consider mundane, such as the cow and the ordinary housecat, as well as more exotic animals, such as zebras and giraffes, "Critters" draws from many of the media that Walter used -- pen and ink, pencil, watercolor, ceramic, blockprints, wood carvings, and even crayon.

This exhibit features Alexander, a wooden giraffe, who now reunites with other woodcarvings, another giraffe, a duck whirligig, and a spotted cow, along with a lion that Walter probably carved in the 20's. With more than sixty other works of art on display, Critters is of interest to everyone, especially young children with activities and art suggestions!

“Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!” are the first sounds you will hear at the Gulf Coast Motor Sports Park! Kart competition is a sport that is fun & enjoyable for the entire family!

Gulf Coast Motor Sports Park hosts an average of 100 entries participating in twenty-five 2- and 4-cycle classes per event; roaring around the 1/8 of a mile high-banked lighted dirt track! The track boast a long backstretch, a wide turn 3 & 4 with a tri-oval front stretch, and wide turn 1 but a tight turn 2!

The “go-kart” phenomenon began in the late 1950's as a fun and affordable hobby and has now spread around the world! Come watch as “up-and-coming Nascar Drivers” zoom their way to victory!
