SARASOTA, FL, October 14, 2014 - The Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) gears up to host its 24th Mercury SKA National Championship in Biloxi, MS this November 6 - 9, 2014.

The world's largest saltwater tournament trail brings another successful season to a close in Mississippi, expecting upwards of 200 teams from across the Southeast to battle for the coveted title of "National Champion." The tournament and corresponding festivities will take place at the Golden Nugget Casino. Actual championship weigh-ins will be located at the adjacent Point Cadet Marina, Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8, from 3:00pm - 8:00pm CST.

In celebration of new things to come (SKA was acquired by the Nationals Boat Owners Association was acquired by the National Boat Othis past April) the Association opened participation in its 24th National Championship to any SKA Team that has fished two or more SKA sanctioned tournaments this year. "It's the one time we can all gather as an Association and a perfect opportunity for us to share our plans for the future," said Ben Wells, newly appointed Chief Operating Officer. "We want to celebrate this firsthand, with as many anglers as possible." Introducing a Single Engine Division, re-structuring the current length requirements of the Small Boat Class, and bringing back a newly revamped Professional Tour are a few of the speculated announcements.

Additional event highlights are vendor sales, boat manufacture demos, awards ceremonies and even a Pub Crawl. The weigh-ins are open to the public and extremely entertaining.
